Genshin Impact, the latest game in the ‘Impact’ series (which also includes the mobile game Honkai Impact 3rd), is a JRPG inspired by Breath of the Wild. You will amass a cast of memorable personalities, immerse yourself in an epic tale, travel a vast open world, and fight through dungeons.
CAT QUEST 2
Cat Quest 2 is more of an evolution than a revolution. It’s the same game with the same graphics, but you can share the journey with a friend this time. That alone completely changes the dynamics.
MONSTER HUNTER STORIES
Capcom was jealous of The Pokémon Company because they crammed a lot of Pokémon ideas into the Monster Hunter canon. You don’t kill monsters (though that’s an option) so much as you hunt for their eggs and then hatch them. During some cool turn-based battles, these infant monsters will grow up to become party members and fight alongside you. Come for the adorable monsters and stay for the rock-paper-scissors battle system; Monster Hunter Stories is one of the best Android RPGs.
FINAL FANTASY VII
In our humble opinion, the best Final Fantasy ever is now available on your phone! You can fight iconic villains in intense turn-based combat, get swept up in the epic story, and even train a Chocobo in your spare time.
If you’re having trouble defeating a particularly difficult boss, you can toggle off enemy encounters and level up to maximum in the mobile version with the click of a button.
ANOTHER EDEN
Knowing that Another Eden is a top-tier Android role-playing game is sufficient for our purposes.
If you haven’t downloaded it yet, you’re missing out on a fantastic turn-based RPG with gorgeous comic book visuals and a slew of playable characters. Come on, and you know what to do.
BALDUR’S GATE: ENHANCED EDITION
Beamdog brought back the best classic role-playing game ever with its successful port to mobile devices. This “Enhanced Edition” has a new user interface, improved graphics, and additional features. Icewind Dale, the sequel, and a new game set between the first and second instalments are also mobile-friendly.
THE BANNER SAGA
In this depressing tactical role-playing series, you lead your caravan across a frozen, Viking-themed landscape. Banner Saga features combat reminiscent of Fire Emblem, exploration of a foreboding world, and decision-making that makes Game of Thrones look like an animated cartoon.
DARKEST DUNGEON
It would be a crime to exclude Darkest Dungeon, which isn’t a dungeon crawler in the strictest sense but focuses almost entirely on exploring underground caverns. You assemble a band of misfit heroes and send them into various “dungeons” to reclaim the estate stolen from your family. Even though monsters are still a major problem, the psychological system is even more dangerous.
Your characters will have to deal with stress in various ways, such as paranoia, fear, irrational behaviour, and more. Each one presents its unique set of challenges that must be surmounted to succeed in the long run.
DRAGON QUEST VIII
Similar to the plethora of Final Fantasy games, there is a plethora of Dragon Quest games for mobile devices. In the end, we decided on Dragon Quest VIII because Square Enix has made improvements to the game so that it works with newer iPhones. In addition, it is generally agreed upon as among the series’ finest instalments.
EXILED KINGDOMS
There is a hidden gem in the mobile app stores, and its name is Exiled Kingdoms (if you do everything). It may not have the best visuals, but you can tell that 4 Dimension Games put a lot of heart and soul into making this game. In addition to being one of the best Android RPGs, it has everything you could want: a vast world, plenty of loot, extensive character customization, and superb writing.
GRIMVALOR
Imagine, if you will, a platformer that aspires to Dark Souls’ style and features gameplay mechanics inspired by that game. That’s the gist of Grimvalor; it’s a platformer in the vein of Souls, where you have to fight through rooms filled with enemies before reaching the bosses. In the absence of Pascal’s Wager on Android (yet), Grimvalor more than fills the void, being both challenging and offering a good set of controls.
LEGEND OF GRIMROCK
Classic dungeon-crawler gameplay was updated for the modern era in Legend of Grimrock, which mainly stood out for its gorgeous visuals. Like in Might & Magic, Eye of the Beholder, and Ultima, you’ll engage in tactical battles, develop your characters extensively, and uncover hidden areas.
